“I need someone all day at my wedding.”

If you've found yourself saying this, you're probably not looking for someone to simply help you into your wedding dress.

You need someone who understands your entire wedding wardrobe and can stay with you through the changes, photographs, movement, dressing and all the little moments where your gown needs attention.

That is where a full-day bridal dresser can make a huge difference.

Because once you start thinking about everything you're wearing throughout the day, you realise the wedding dress is only part of it.

You may have your ceremony gown, veil, jewellery, shoes, overskirt, cape, detachable train, reception look and evening outfit.

Then there are the photographs.

The bustle.

The train.

The outfit changes.

The packing.

And the question nobody seems to ask until quite late in the planning:

“Who is looking after all of this?”

That's where I come in.

You don't need another wedding supplier. You need someone looking after you.

A full-day bridal dresser is there specifically for you and your wedding wardrobe.

I'm not your wedding planner.

I'm not your photographer.

I'm not your hair and makeup artist.

My focus is your clothing, your appearance and making sure you look your best throughout the day.

I can arrive while you're getting ready, prepare your gown, steam where required, help you dress and stay with you as the day progresses.

If your dress needs adjusting before photographs, I'm there.

If your train needs arranging, I'm there.

If you have an outfit change, I'm there.

If your veil needs removing, I'm there.

If your second look needs steaming, I'm there.

And when you're finished with a garment, I can help make sure it is properly looked after rather than being left crumpled on the floor of a bridal suite.

That's the difference.

Why would I need a bridal dresser all day?

For some brides, you won't.

If you have one dress, one veil, no outfit changes and a straightforward wedding, a shorter bridal dressing appointment may be perfect.

But weddings have become much more fashion-focused.

Brides are wearing different looks throughout the day.

You might have a dramatic ceremony gown and then change into something lighter for your reception.

You might add an overskirt for the ceremony and remove it later.

You might have a cape for photographs.

You might change your veil.

You might have a completely different evening dress.

You may even have several wedding celebrations over the same day.

The more you change, the more useful it becomes to have one person responsible for the wardrobe.

Your wedding wardrobe doesn't disappear once you're dressed

This is something brides often don't consider.

Once your dress is on, you still have hours ahead of you.

Your photographer may want photographs outside.

You may be walking between rooms.

You may be sitting down for dinner.

You may be dancing.

You may be travelling between venues.

Your dress is going to move with you.

A long train can get caught.

The bustle may need attention.

Layers can shift.

The veil can move.

The dress may need gathering when you're walking.

And if you're wearing a structured gown, you may need help sitting comfortably.

I'm there to watch for those things.

You don't have to keep checking the back of your dress.

The ceremony isn't the end of the dressing service

This is an important distinction.

A lot of brides think the bridal dresser's job finishes when they walk down the aisle.

For a full-day service, that's when another part of the job begins.

After the ceremony, you may have photographs.

Then drinks.

Then your reception.

Then dinner.

Then dancing.

Perhaps another outfit.

Perhaps a change of shoes.

Perhaps the removal of your veil.

Perhaps the removal of your overskirt.

Perhaps a completely different reception look.

There can be a lot happening.

You shouldn't have to coordinate your own wardrobe while you're trying to enjoy your wedding.

What happens with your veil?

Your veil may be one of the most beautiful parts of your look.

It may also be one of the first things you want to remove after the ceremony.

A long cathedral veil can be particularly difficult to manage.

It needs to be positioned correctly before you leave for the ceremony.

It may need to be arranged for photographs.

Then, when you're ready to remove it, it needs to be done carefully so your hairstyle and dress aren't disturbed.

If you're wearing a blusher, that may need to be arranged at the right moment too.

With full-day support, I know when your veil needs attention.

You don't have to find someone to help you at the last minute.

And then there's the train

Your train can look incredible in photographs.

It can also become a full-time job if nobody is looking after it.

Before photographs, I'll arrange it.

If you're moving, I'll help you manage it.

If it needs bustling, I'll assist.

If you're sitting down, I'll make sure it's positioned appropriately.

If you're heading into your reception, I'll help you prepare the dress for that next part of the day.

A train should be something you enjoy wearing.

Not something you spend the entire wedding worrying about.

What if I have an overskirt?

Overskirts are one of my favourite ways to transform a wedding dress.

You can have a dramatic ceremony silhouette and then remove the overskirt for the reception.

It can completely change the look.

But someone needs to know when to remove it and where it goes afterwards.

It shouldn't be thrown over a chair.

It shouldn't be left in a heap.

It shouldn't become something your bridesmaid has to remember while she's trying to enjoy the reception.

I'll take care of it.

I'll help remove it when you're ready and make sure it's looked after properly.

The same applies to detachable trains, capes, sleeves and other additional bridal pieces.

What if I have a second wedding dress?

This is becoming increasingly common.

The ceremony dress might be the dramatic one.

Then you change into something more comfortable for dinner.

Then perhaps a third look for dancing.

If you're doing this, having someone there throughout the day makes life much easier.

I can help prepare the second outfit before you need it.

If it requires steaming, I can take care of that.

I can help you change.

I can organise the accessories.

And I can make sure the first dress is safely put away.

You don't have to think about where everything is.

The second outfit needs preparation too

It's easy to think:

“I'll just change into my second dress later.”

But what happens when you take it out of its bag?

It may be creased.

It may have travelled.

It may have been packed in a suitcase.

It may have delicate fabric.

It may need steaming.

And you don't want to discover that five minutes before your reception entrance.

With all-day support, the wardrobe is being managed ahead of time.

The next look can be prepared while you're enjoying the wedding.

That makes the change much calmer.

What about your jewellery and accessories?

Your accessories are part of your overall look.

You may have one set of jewellery for the ceremony and another for the evening.

Perhaps you're changing your earrings.

Perhaps you're adding a statement necklace.

Perhaps you're changing your hair accessories.

Perhaps the veil is being replaced with a headpiece.

These details can completely change your look.

Having someone who knows your wardrobe means those changes can happen without you having to search through bags or ask five different people where something has gone.

I work alongside your photographer

This is another important part of my role.

Your photographer wants to capture your wedding as it happens.

They don't want to spend the day fixing your dress.

I can work alongside them.

When you're having portraits, I'll be nearby.

I'll arrange the train.

Position the veil.

Smooth the fabric.

Check the back.

Make small adjustments between photographs.

Sometimes the photographer will ask me to change something.

Sometimes I'll see something before they do.

We're working towards the same thing.

You looking fantastic in every photograph.

I work alongside your wedding planner too

The same applies to your planner.

Your planner has enough to manage.

They don't need to be running backwards and forwards because your second dress needs steaming or your veil needs removing.

I can take responsibility for the wardrobe side of things.

That means your planner can concentrate on the wider wedding.

The schedule.

The venue.

The suppliers.

The guests.

The ceremony.

The reception.

And everything else happening around you.

I stay focused on you.

What if I have a luxury hotel wedding?

This is where full-day bridal dressing can be particularly useful.

Luxury hotel weddings often involve large bridal suites, several rooms and multiple stages throughout the day.

You might get ready in one room, have photographs somewhere else, move to the ceremony, then return for the reception.

Your wardrobe moves with you.

Your garments need to be managed.

Your train needs attention.

Your outfit changes need to happen somewhere.

And there can be a lot of people around you.

Having one person responsible for your wardrobe means you don't have to keep explaining what needs to happen.

I've worked in luxury hotels and venues where discretion, presentation and calm are essential.

I know when to step forward.

And when to stay in the background.

What if I'm having a destination wedding?

A full-day bridal dresser can be especially valuable when you're getting married away from home.

You may be unfamiliar with the venue.

Your wedding dress has travelled.

You may have multiple garments.

There may be several events.

And you might not have your usual support network around you.

For destination weddings, I can travel with you and work around the schedule of the wedding.

This can be particularly useful for brides travelling from overseas to the UK or travelling from the UK to a European destination.

Your wedding wardrobe still needs someone who understands it, wherever you're getting married.

What about multi-day weddings?

This is another situation where wardrobe management becomes important.

If you're having several celebrations, you may have several outfits.

A ceremony outfit.

A reception outfit.

A second-day outfit.

Traditional clothing.

Evening looks.

Different jewellery.

Different shoes.

Different hair accessories.

The wardrobe can become substantial.

You don't want to be searching through garment bags every morning.

A professional dresser can help organise and prepare everything so each day begins with the wardrobe ready.

For brides with particularly complex wedding wardrobes, I can provide bespoke support based on the number of outfits, days and requirements.

What happens when you change out of your wedding dress?

This is something people often forget.

You've spent months choosing your gown.

You've spent time having it fitted.

You've had it steamed.

You've worn it through the ceremony.

Then you change.

And suddenly your wedding dress is sitting somewhere.

On a chair.

On the floor.

In a bathroom.

In the corner of a room.

It deserves better than that.

I can help you change and then prepare the gown for safe storage or transport.

If you're having the dress preserved later, this is also important.

The way the gown is handled at the end of the wedding can make a difference to what happens next.

What if I only want someone until the evening?

That's completely possible.

“Full day” doesn't have to mean you need someone until midnight.

Your service can be built around what you actually need.

Perhaps you need support from 9am until 5pm.

Perhaps you need to stay through the ceremony and first part of the reception.

Perhaps you have one major outfit change and then you're done.

Perhaps you're having a late wedding and need afternoon-to-evening coverage.

The important thing is to discuss your timeline.

Then we can work out what level of support makes sense.

You don't need to worry about being too much

I've noticed that brides sometimes apologise when they tell me how many outfits they're wearing.

They'll say:

“I know it's a lot.”

It isn't.

That's what I'm there for.

If you've chosen four looks, then you have four looks.

If you've got an overskirt, cape, cathedral veil and second dress, that's your wardrobe.

If you're having a destination wedding with multiple events, that's your wedding.

My job is to work out how to manage it.

You don't need to simplify your wedding wardrobe just because you think it's too much for someone else.

Your mum can enjoy the wedding too

This is one of my favourite reasons for full-day support.

Your mum shouldn't have to spend your wedding day carrying your dress.

She shouldn't have to chase your veil.

She shouldn't be worrying about where your second outfit is.

She shouldn't be crawling underneath your dress to find the bustle.

She should be enjoying you.

She should be watching you walk down the aisle.

She should be talking to guests.

She should be dancing.

She should be having her own memories.

The same goes for your bridesmaids.

They've got their own outfits, photographs and responsibilities.

Let them be part of your day.

Let me handle the wardrobe.

Your wedding day is a moving production

Think about everything that happens.

You get ready.

You put the dress on.

You take photographs.

You leave the hotel.

You arrive at the venue.

You walk down the aisle.

You have photographs.

You move to the reception.

You sit down.

You stand up.

You dance.

You change.

You remove your veil.

You change your accessories.

You put on another outfit.

And eventually, the day comes to an end.

Your wardrobe is moving through all of that with you.

A full-day bridal dresser is there to manage those transitions.

That's what you're really paying for.

Not simply someone to fasten your dress.

You're paying for someone to take responsibility for your wardrobe throughout the day.

What does a full-day bridal dresser actually bring?

Experience.

Practical garment knowledge.

A calm presence.

An understanding of wedding dresses.

An ability to work around other suppliers.

And someone who is watching the details while you're busy getting married.

That's the difference between having a friend help you get dressed and having a professional responsible for your wardrobe.

Both can be lovely.

But they are very different services.

Is a full-day bridal dresser right for me?

Ask yourself a few questions.

Do you have more than one outfit?

Are you wearing a complicated gown?

Do you have a long train?

Are you wearing an overskirt or cape?

Do you have a long veil?

Are you having outfit changes?

Are you getting married in a luxury hotel?

Are you travelling for your wedding?

Are you having a multi-day celebration?

Do you want your mum and bridesmaids to enjoy the day without managing your wardrobe?

If you've answered yes to several of these, full-day bridal dressing could be worth considering.

You planned every detail of your wedding. Your wardrobe deserves the same attention.

Your dress is one of the most photographed things at your wedding.

It deserves to look incredible from the moment you put it on until the moment you change out of it.

And you deserve to enjoy wearing it.

You shouldn't be worrying about the train.

You shouldn't be looking for your veil.

You shouldn't be asking your bridesmaid where the second dress is.

You shouldn't be steaming an outfit in your hotel room while everyone else is getting ready.

You shouldn't be managing your own wardrobe.

You should be getting married.

I need someone all day at my wedding

If that's exactly what you've been thinking, then you may be looking for full-day bridal dressing and wedding wardrobe support.

I can be there from the morning preparation through to your outfit changes, photographs, reception and final garment organisation.

The service can be tailored around your wedding rather than forcing you into a standard package.

One dress.

Three dresses.

Overskirt.

Cape.

Long veil.

Multiple outfit changes.

Luxury hotel.

Private venue.

UK wedding.

Destination wedding.

The wardrobe can be as simple or as elaborate as your plans require.

I'll look after it.

You enjoy the wedding.
